Wholesale Rebuilt Transmissions | Wholesale Guide for Rebuilt Units

The finished unit at wholesale quantity

A wholesale rebuilt unit is the same finished unit described on the rebuilt transmission pages: a used unit taken through full teardown, screening with scrapping of failed parts, ultrasonic cleaning with a second check, replacement of high-wear parts, upgrades for known weak points, precision pressing and valve bore sleeving, component bench testing, housing refurbishment, standardised reassembly, and a full-load dyno inspection of every finished unit. Quantity does not change that sequence on this site. What quantity changes is the buyer's need for evidence: a buyer receiving many units needs a record for each unit, a clear identification method, and a packing arrangement that allows the shipment to be checked without unpacking everything at once. Those three needs should be settled in the order confirmation, not discovered at delivery.

Records and identification for a batch

Test data and a quality inspection record are retained for each finished unit in the documented process. For a wholesale order, the buyer should confirm how those records are supplied: whether they travel with the shipment, how they are grouped, and how each record is matched to its unit. The buyer should also confirm the unit identification method, because a record that cannot be matched to a unit is of limited use after delivery. Where a shipment contains several models, records should be grouped by model, so that a question about one model does not require searching the records for the whole shipment. These are practical points, but they determine whether the buyer can act on a record after delivery, which is the purpose of keeping one.

Packing a wholesale shipment

Each finished unit is finally inspected against model code, appearance, and sealing, then cleaned, protected, and packed in an export fumigated solid wooden crate with shock and moisture protection, with packing photographs available for the customer to check on request. For wholesale shipments, confirm how units are grouped in crates, how crates are labelled, and how packing photographs are matched to crates where they are provided. Confirm any packing customisation before dispatch, since repacking after dispatch is costly and risks damage. Confirm the trade terms and payment terms before payment, and confirm the minimum order quantity and the lead time before placing an order, since both affect how a wholesale shipment is planned.

Confirm before you order

Questions buyers ask

Is wholesale quality the same as single-unit quality?

On this site, yes: the sequence and the full dyno inspection apply to every finished unit regardless of quantity. Please confirm that statement in writing for your order, since other suppliers may apply different terms at quantity.

What should I do if one unit in a batch fails its delivery check?

Isolate that unit, keep its packing and its record, and raise the matter with the order details and the unit identification. Do not fit a unit that has failed its delivery check while the matter is unresolved.

Can I order a mixed batch of automatic and continuously variable units?

The categories are separate on this site. A mixed order should list each category and each model code separately, with a written scope for each, rather than combining them under a single description.
